Are you confused about choosing between V mixer with ribbon mixer? This article will help you make better decisions for your business!

Mixing is critical for large organizations in pharmaceutical, food and agricultural manufacturing. V and ribbon mixers stand out among the various mixing equipment available.

Mixing isn't just about mixing material but efficiency and effectiveness. Let’s delve into the specifics of V mixers and ribbon mixers to help you make an informed decision.

Ribbon Mixer

Working principle:

The transmission shaft of the mixer is arranged with double-layer ribbon blades, the internal ribbon blade will transport the material to the outside, and the external ribbon blade will push the material to the inside. Under the convective movement of the material in the double-layer ribbon blades, an efficient mixing condition is formed. The ribbon blades on the mixing shaft drive the materials inside the barrel, so that the mixer turns the material inside the barrel to the maximum extent. When the mixer works, the inner ribbon blade drives the material near the axis to rotate, and the axial push is from inside to both sides, the outer ribbon blade drives the material near the barrel wall to rotate, and the axial push is from both sides to the inside, and the mixing material can be evenly mixed in a short time.

Structure:

The horizontal ribbon mixer is composed of a driving part, a double-layer ribbon blades and a U-shaped barrel.

Features:

1. The double-layer ribbon blades mixing structure use the outer ribbon blade to push powders inward and the inner ribbon blade to push powders outward. In this way, the powders can be mixed quickly and evenly.

2. The horizontal ribbon mixer had the features of high efficiency, high uniformity, high loading factor, low energy consumption and low pollution.

3. Powders can be mixed with low crushing influence.

4. According to different materials specifications, different mixing blades can be selected: internal and external continuous ribbon blade type, broken ribbon blade paddle type and large paddle type etc.

5. If the product specification is relatively special, the high-speed stirring chopper can be equipped.

V-shape Mixer

Working principle:

The V-shape mixer is composed of two cylinders formed and welded together, and the shape is asymmetric relative to the shaft. Due to the rotating motion, the powders are continuously alternating, divided and merged in the cylinder. The material is randomly transferred from one region to another, and at the same time, there is slip between the particles of the powder particles. The space is superimposed for many times, and the powders are continuously distributed on the newly generated surface, so that the shear and diffusion mixing are repeated.

Structure:

The V-shape mixer consists of a transmission component and two cylinders formed and welded together.

Features:1. High mixing efficiency for materials with similar particle size and density.

2. It is not easy to break or crush powders when mixing.

3, There is no mechanical extrusion or strong wearing, so it can keep the material particles intact.

4. The inside and outside of the barrel are polished and designed with a smooth transition to avoid cross-contamination of materials.

5. The cylinder material can be selected from carbon steel, stainless steel, etc.

6. Comes with timing function

Main Differences:

1. The V-shape mixer is larger than the horizontal ribbon mixer under the same volume. The V-shape mixer need for higher space, because the it needs rotary movement. So the V-shape mixer required height is nearly twice that of the horizontal ribbon mixer.

2. The horizontal ribbon mixer has higher mixing speed with higher mixing efficiency. However it may break or shear the soft powder materials. On the other hand, the V-shape mixer has low speed with low mixing efficiency.

3. Horizontal ribbon mixer has more discharging methods: pneumatic flap discharge, butterfly valve, gate valve, bottom conveyor discharge, etc. But the V-shape mixer only has the butterfly valves

4. Horizontal ribbon mixer can choose different blades according to materials specifications but V-type mixer has no blades
